MONTGOMERY, OH (FOX19) - House Speaker John Boehner got emotional Tuesday during a visit to his alma mater, Arch Bishop Moeller High School.
Boehner visited southwest Ohio on Monday and Tuesday, visiting with small business owners on Monday and speaking at a chamber of commerce breakfast in Dayton Tuesday morning.
He took time to visit Moeller on Tuesday, where he graduated in 1968.
Students greeted Boehner with a standing ovation and a video presentation that brought Boehner to tears.
He was also presented with a framed photo and a #54 framed football jersey.
"I tried to steal that jersey 43 years ago," Boehner joked.
Boehner also held a question and answer session with students, where he talked about his time at Moeller.
"If I have one regret it's that I would have studied more," he said.
