CINCINNATI (AP) - A Cincinnati man has been sentenced to probation and three months jail time in the death of his sickly mother, who died of a blood infection and was found with rotting bedsores and maggots on her body.

Thirty-three-year-old Brian White was sentenced Tuesday to five years' probation and the time served since his arrest in Jorene White's death in July. He pleaded guilty last month to one count of reckless homicide and failure to provide for a functionally impaired adult.

Hamilton County prosecutors said the bedridden woman was "being eaten alive by maggots."

The judge told White she would send him to prison for 6 ½ years if he violates probation.

White's father was convicted of the same charges last year and received the same sentence.
