CALIFORNIA, OH (FOX19) - After being shut down for a week due to the rising waters of the Ohio River, River Downs will reopen on Friday.
The RaceBook and Tiki Bar will be open for full-card simulcasting and horses will be filling the stables on the backstretch.
About 500 horses had to evacuated from the facility last week due to flood waters covering racing surface and parts of the stable area.
The track opens at 11:30 a.m. Friday to the clubhouse and Tiki Bar adjacent to the paddock, and while they will not have live racing, they will offer $1.00 beer and hot dogs to their patrons during simulcasting all day.
The backstretch will reopen for stabling starting at 8:00 a.m.
