LAWRENCEBURG, IN (FOX19) - The Dearborn and Ohio County Prosecutor's Office has charged Michael Fogle, a Deputy with the Dearborn County Sheriff's Department, with several felony charges.
Fogle has been charged with two counts of forgery, theft, attempted theft, obstruction of justice, and two counts of perjury.
The charges stem from an investigation regarding the use of money from Federal traffic safety grants by the Dearborn County Sheriff's Department. The investigation was initiated after Fogle submitted time sheets for days he had not worked. A preliminary internal investigation was conducted and it was determined that a criminal investigation was necessary.
Michael Fogle is currently in custody and an initial hearing will be held in Superior Court II in front of Judge Sally Blankenship on Monday, May 2.
