Reds pitcher Mike Leake plead guilty on Friday to a reduced charge of unauthorized use of property. Leake was arrested and charged with shoplifting earlier this month.
Leake was arrested at Macy's in Downtown Cincinnati April 18 and was accused of trying to steal six shirts with a total value of $59.88.
Along with the reduced charge, Leake says he was accepted into a diversion program which could result in the charges that he pled guilty to dropped. To do this, Leake would have to complete 30 hours of community service and counseling at what police would call a satisfactory level.
Leake is expected to speak to the press Friday afternoon.
