Women's City Club comes together to discuss education

The Woman's City Club hosted its 2011 Luncheon, Friday, and theme of the event was "Crossroads in Education."

Cincinnati Public School Superintendent, Mary Ronan, spoke at the event about the challenge that Cincinnati Public Schools face to continue its progress during a budget crisis. She also spoke about coping with changes in the educational policy at the Federal and State levels.

The biggest challenge that the school faces right now, Ronan said, is money.

"The trouble is now; if they give one district more money they have to take it away from another district," said Mary Ronan, CPS Superintendent, "So it has gotten just incredibly tight."

The Woman's City club is a 95-year-old civic organization. Their mission is to secure a more just and livable community for all.
