The Cincinnati Opera is hosting the third annual Opera Idol auditions today, looking for amateur singers of any style.
The audition, which run until 4 p.m., are open to the general public and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Contestants will audition with a musical piece of their choosing in front of a three-judge panel. Auditions will be unaccompanied and must be under two minutes.
All residents of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky are welcome to attend.
Ten semi-finalists will be chosen, and will then perform a concert at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater on July 5. From there, audience members will choose the final 5. Then, the public will vote for their favorite and the winner will win a $3,500 prize.
