Xavier University announced Tuesday that head basketball coach Chris Mack has agreed on a contract extension that will keep him with XU through the 2017-18 season.
The deal covers 7-years, and makes Mack the highest paid coach in Xavier's history. The exact details of the deal have not been released.
Mack led Xavier to the NCAA tournament his first two seasons as head coach and, reportedly, recently turned down an offer to take the job at Tennessee.
With the return of third-team All-American Tu Holloway, Mack's Musketeers are expected to be a pre-season top 25 team.
