A man convicted of aggravated murder in the death of his wife could receive the death penalty. A Warren County Common Pleas jury in Lebanon deliberated five hours yesterday before finding Rocky Lee Barton guilty in the January 16th slaying of his wife. Jurors will hear testimony today in the sentencing phase of the trial. Prosecutors argued that Barton planned to lure 40-year-old Kimbirli Jo Barton to their Wayne Township farmhouse and kill her because he knew she meant to leave him. Barton's lawyers argued that their client killed his wife on impulse in an argument. Barton tried to kill himself after his wife's slaying. But he survived a shotgun blast and underwent facial reconstruction.
