Cincinnati Children's rated among nation's best children's hospitals

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center ranks third in the nation among all Honor Roll hospitals in U.S.News and World Report's 2011 Best Children's Hospitals ranking.

Cincinnati Children's is the only hospital in Ohio to make the Honor Roll list and one of only 11 in the United States. The Honor Roll includes hospitals that excel in at least four of the 10 specialties ranked.

Cincinnati Children's is ranked in the top 10 for all pediatric specialties – a distinction shared only by Children's Hospital Boston and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The specialties and Cincinnati Children's rank are:

  • Neonatology                                      3
  • Urology                                              4
  • Cancer                                               5
  • Orthopedics                                       5
  • Diabetes & Endocrinology                  6

The new rankings recognize 50 children's hospitals in 10 specialties.  Seventy-six hospitals are ranked in at least one specialty.
