Wife Slaying

Man to be sentenced next week for wife's murder

A man convicted of killing his wife finds out next week if he will be sentenced to death. A Warren County jury recommended yesterday that Rocky Barton be executed for the shotgun slaying of his wife, 44-year-old Kimbirli Jo Barton. Police said 47-year-old Rocky Barton shot her to death on January 16th, then shot himself but survived. A judge in Warren County Common Pleas Court will sentence Barton a week from tomorrow in Lebanon. Judge Neal Bronson could adopt the jury's recommendation of execution, or could sentence Barton to life in prison.
