CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati City Council votes to approve a plan to keep nurses in its schools. The vote passed 5 to 4 Wednesday afternoon.
City leaders reached an agreement last week to pay $200,000 and keep the nurses in Cincinnati Public Schools through December. To help cut costs, the new deal will replace 13 of the 45 nurses with school health assistants.
Originally, the city planned to pay $1 million, but had to scrap those plans to balance the budget.
