FRANKFORT, KY (FOX19) - A Franklin County circuit court judge will hear testimony Thursday after Kentucky's Attorney General alleged price gouging at the pump by Marathon.
Experts on wholesale gas prices are expected to testify at the hearing, which is set for 9 a.m.
Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway is accusing Marathon Oil of price gouging, which violates a state statute. Conway claims Marathon illegally hiked the wholesale price of gasoline during last month's devastating floods. He says gas jumped 30-cents overnight in some areas.
Lawyers say Marathon says the lawsuit is a political move, but Conway says it's his job to stick up for consumers.
