FALMOUTH, KY (FOX19) - An ambulance stolen from Lexington, Ky. has been located in Pendleton County.
The Fleming County ambulance was taken from St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington on Wednesday night.
Police say ambulance crew had left the keys in the ignition with the motor running when they took a patient inside the hospital.
Lexington authorities notified surrounding agencies to be on the lookout for the vehicle.
A few hours later, the Pendleton County Sheriff's Office was on routine patrol when they located the ambulance approximately five miles west of Falmouth on Ky. Hwy. 22.
The ambulance was recovered without incident and was not damaged.
The case remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.
