An Elmwood Place man is facing charges after police say he fired shots at officers.
Tyler Haungs, 28, is charged with one count of felonious assault and resisting arrest.
According to court documents, Haungs fled during a fight on March 6, but left his coat at the scene. When police chased him on foot, he fired a shot at an Elmwood Place officer, and the officer fired two shots back, but no one was hit.
Police used DNA evidence from Haungs' coat to track him down. He was interviewed at the justice center while he was incarcerated for unrelated charges. He confessed to being the only subject to flee the fight in the street and also to the clothing description of what he was wearing when he fled.
Haungs is still being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
