CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - In celebration of their 2011 graduating class, Cincy Dance organized an event on Fountain Square to beat the world record for number of pliès.
More than 150 people gathered to pliè on Saturday.
Cincy Dance visited 20 schools in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky this year, and did a six week program with the third graders at those schools, totaling 750 kids. Of those kids, 60 were selected based on facility, talent, and interest to receive a scholarship for an additional 20 weeks of dance classes at the Cincinnati Ballet studios. 10 of those 60 will be selected for full scholarships to the Cincinnati Ballet Academy.
Now in its 15th year, Cincinnati Dance hopes to make a graduation celebration a yearly tradition.
