CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - As a part of the sixth annual Peace or Hunger Conference at the University of Cincinnati, some students spent the night in a shantytown of cardboard boxes.
Students set up the shantytown on Saturday evening, and spent the night there in order to gain a greater understanding of hunger, homelessness, and other injustices.
The Peace or Hunger Conference is sponsored by a U. C. student service organization, called the Peace Village, that is dedicated to promoting peace and fairness.
The conference looked at the most recent research on issues related to peace and hunger in the Cincinnati community.
More than 150 people were expected to attend the event and conference.
