Traveling Patriot Flag makes stop in Tri-State

FAIRFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) - In a tribute to America's heroes, Bridgewater Falls and the Fairfield Township Fire Department are displaying the Patriot Flag, a flag that is traveling the country in remembrance of the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2011.

The flag will arrive at Bridgewater Falls around 1 p.m., with a short ceremony taking place as the flag is raised into position. The ceremony will consist of sky divers jumping with American Flags, performances of The National Anthem, God Bless the U.S.A., Taps, and Amazing Grace, and a special tribute to fallen soldiers.

Attendees will be painting large American Flags with hand prints that will be sent to the first responding fire department of the Flight 93 crash in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

The Patriot Flag is making its way to New York City, the Pentagon, and the Flight 93 National Memorial to be displayed on the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

The flag will be in Fairfield Twp. until 4 p.m.
