Firefighters rappel 500 feet to rescue boy trapped in Warren County creek

WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - Two firefighters rappelled 500 feet to rescue a boy who was trapped in high water Sunday night in Warren County.

Around 8:30 p.m., Warren County Water Rescue  crews were called to the 2400 block of Carriage Gate Lane near the Landen-Deerfield Park for a report of a child in the water.

Police say the youngster had lost his footing Sunday evening while trying to cross the creek with his bike

The child was pulled from the water and taken to an area hospital with some bumps and bruises. He is expected to be OK.

The boy's name has not been released.
