Driver rescued after being trapped inside cab of semi

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) -

The driver of a semi truck had to be flown to the hospital after his truck overturned in Boone County.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 42 and Verona Mudlick Road. James McQueary, 69 of Covington, Kentucky was hauling a load of mulch for Brothers Express Corporation out of Cincinnati, Ohio from Cincinnati to Louisville, Kentucky. McQueary was traveling west when the truck overturned in the curve at Risner Road.

McQueary was trapped in the cab and had to be cut free.  He was flown to University of Kentucky Medical Center by P.H.I. where he remains in reported stable condition.

First responders closed off that section of the road until noon, allowing only one lane at a time until they cleared the wreckage.

The accident is under investigation by a Commercial Vehicle Investigator of the Boone County Sheriff's Department Accident Reconstruction Unit.
