BATAVIA, OH (FOX19) - Over 5,000 Clermont County homes and businesses are without power on Tuesday afternoon, following a line of strong storms that pushed through the area on Monday night.
Clermont County government offices located on Clermont Center Drive in Batavia are among those impacted by the power outages. Domestic Relations Court is closed, and other facilities including the Department of Job and Family Services, Probate Court, and Juvenile Court are open with minimal staffing. Clermont County residents are urged to call ahead if they have an appointment with any county government offices in that location.
Because of the power outage, the 5 p.m. meeting of the Clermont County Planning Commission, previously scheduled to be held at 2381 Clermont Center Drive, is being moved to the third floor of the Clermont County Administration Building, located at 101 E. Main Street in Batavia. Call 732-7912 for additional information about the meeting.
The Clermont County Engineer's office reports that several roadways are closed as a result of fallen trees tangled in power lines. Lindale-Mt. Holly Road in Monroe Township is closed in the 1700 block and Taylor Pike at Long Glady Road is closed in Wayne Township.
