WEST UNION, OH (FOX19) - The community of West Union, Ohio is mourning the loss of a four-year-old child who drowned in a creek which was only about a foot deep.
According to the Adams County Sheriff's Office, Mahlon Yutzey was playing next to creek and was missing for about 15 minutes when his mother alerted family members and neighbors to start looking for him.
The boy was found face down in the creek. Emergency officials did CPR and got his pulse back. He was then taken to a local hospital and AirCare was called. AirCare arrived at the hospital to take the child to Children's Hospital, but the child passed away before the flight took off.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating the child's death, but as of now, they believe this is just a tragic accident.
