COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) - There will be more traffic headaches in Northern Kentucky this weekend, just in time for Memorial Day weekend, as the Kentucky Transportation Department continues its "Revive the Drive" campaign.
Beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, May 27, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 30, traffic will be restricted to one lane between the Dixie Highway (exit 188) and the Brent Spence Bridge. During this closure, the entrance ramp from Kyles Lane to I-75 Northbound, the I-75 northbound exit ramp at 12th Street/MLK Boulevard and the Fourth Street entrance ramp to northbound I-75 will be closed.
In addition, from 11 p.m. on Friday, May 27 until 7 a.m. Saturday, May 28, and from 11 p.m. Saturday, May 28 until 9 a.m. Sunday, May 29, the southbound side of the Brent Spence Bridge will be restricted to one lane of traffic. On Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., traffic will be restricted to two lanes.
Two hour delays are expected in some areas, and motorists are urged to seek alternate routes.
Work will replace sections of concrete pavement as well as joint repair work on several bridges.
