CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A Saylor Park couple has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for starving their infant daughter to death.

Judge Nadine Allen sentenced Gary West, 30, and Jill Hull, 28, to the maximum sentence for the murder of 11-week-old Rachel West.

West and Hull were convicted in April of two counts of murder each. Investigators say the baby was in the five percent of her weight class when she died in December of 2008.

Back in 2008, Hamilton County coroner Dr. O'dell Owens said the infant was not taking formula, and her parents did not seek medical attention for her. Formula was found in their apartment, but Owens said there was no food in her system.

According to court officials, West and Hull lived in a two-room apartment with their four children. The apartment had no central heat, no refrigerator, no stove and no kitchen sink. The family had received nearly $3,000 in food stamps in the time the baby was alive.

Five cans of baby formula were found in the home at the time of the infant's death.
