5 hospitalized after tire blow out in Whitewater Township

WHITEWATER TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A driver and a four passengers were all transported to the hospital after a tire blew out on their vehicle in Whitewater Township Friday night.

At about 9:45 pm Friday night, a tire blew out on a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling southbound on I-275. This caused the vehicle to travel off the left side of the highway and into the median, and then overturn.

The driver, Brandi Quick, 23, and three passengers, Aba Billingsly, 34, Jason Swank, 33, and Kelly Zerhoff, 24, were all ejected from the vehicle.

A fourth passenger, Kristina Gordon, 34, was trapped inside the vehicle for 40 minutes before being extricated from the vehicle by the Whitewater Township Fire Department. Gordon was the only member of the vehicle wearing a seatbelt.

Speed, alcohol and/or drugs were not determined to be factors in this accident.

All five people injured are listed as being in stable condition at University Hospital.

The incident is still under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
