CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Monday is a hot day across the Tri-State, but there is relief for residents of Cincinnati.
Most of the city's public pools open Monday at 1 p.m.
The pools are opening thanks to donations after the budget for the pools was cut. On April 13, the Mayor and Council appropriated, by an 8 to 1 vote, $600,000 to open City Pools and to serve as a match to private fundraising.
Mayor Mark Mallory, attorney Stan Chesley and the Cincinnati Recreation Foundation announced last week that they had raised over $417,000 to open all 25 city pools this summer.
Most of the pools will be open until July 30. Annual membership fees are $10 for kids 17 and under, $25 for adults and $10 for seniors 50 and over. Membership fees exclude the Otto Armleder Pool at Dunham Complex.
