WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) - The Liz Claiborne distribution center in West Chester will close its doors within the year. The company cites changing business needs as the reason why.
West Chester Township officials say nearly 400 people will lose their jobs.
Employees at the center say they found out about three weeks ago, and currently the company is working out a severance package for the laid off workers.
Most of the jobs at the plant are warehouse positions.
"It was like somebody gave us the worst news I've ever heard because it is really a good place to work, they really take care of their employees. Benefits were great and we did a lot of things together as a company, barbeques. So it's going to be hard," said Kris Greenlee, an employee of the Liz Claiborne plant.
This is the third major layoff by a company located in West Chester within the last couple months.
