Warning Signs of Scholarship Scams:
1-States scholarship/grant is guaranteed or money back. No one can guarantee you'll get a scholarship or grant.
2-States you can't get this information anywhere else. Scholarship and grant information is widely available on-line and at libraries.
3-Promises they will do all the work. Only parents and students can determine and provide the financial information needed to complete the forms.
4-Claims you have been selected by a national foundation to receive a scholarship/grant. Ask yourself this question: Did I enter such a competition?
5-Asks for credit card or bank account number to hold scholarship/grant. This is never a requirement for legitimate scholarship/grant offer.
6-Demands money in order to collect sholarship/grant. Legitimate scholarships/grants never cost you money.
