Cold Spring Kroger celebrates grand reopening

COLD SPRING, KY (FOX19) -

The Cold Spring Kroger celebrated its grand reopening on Thursday morning.

The official ribbon cutting was held at 8 a.m., with the first 300 customers through the door at 7 a.m. receiving a $10 Kroger gift card. Throughout the rest of the weekend, the first 300 customers each day will receive coupons for a specially selected product free.

The store closed on Feb. 13 so the expansion could be completed.

New additions include full service meat and seafood shoppes, an expanded Nature's Market, a Floral Shoppe, a hot soup bar and sandwich station and a drive through pharmacy. For a limited time only, customers can earn $1 per gallon on fuel with a prescription transferred from a non-Kroger owned pharmacy.

"Cold Spring is a close knit, friendly neighborhood and we've definitely missed seeing our friends every week," said Tom Armbruster, store manager. "We are really excited to share the new store with all our shoppers."

Jim Scott will be at the store on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m.; the Newport Aquarium's Shark Petting Tank and Snoopy from Kings Island will be at the store on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.; and the SPCA adoption van will be on site on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
