CLEVELAND (AP) - A dedication ceremony is planned for the reopening of Cleveland's historic League Park. A $6.3 million city-funded project to restore and renovate what's left of the old ballpark on Cleveland's east side has been completed and an opening ceremony is planned for this afternoon. The Cleveland Indians played there in the early 1900s and Babe Ruth hit his 500th career home run. The Indians won their first World Series at League Park in 1929, and Joe DiMaggio got the last hit there in his 56-game hitting streak in 1941.

AKRON, Ohio (AP) - Ohio-based Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is set to christen its new airship, launching the next generation of its well-known blimp. The company said "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts would christen "Wingfoot One" today at its hangar just southeast of Akron. Goodyear has used the "Wingfoot" symbol for a century, and the airship was assembled at the Wingfoot Lake hangar.

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cleveland authorities say a traveler who refused to turn off his cellphone and fought with flight attendants as a plane taxied for takeoff has been jailed and charged with aggravated disorderly conduct. Federal regulations allow passengers to use cellphones in airplane mode or with cellular service disabled but not for voice communications. The Northeast Ohio Media Group says Bowie, Maryland, resident Jay Peck was charged yesterday. No attorney and no scheduled court appearance are listed for him.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - With hopes of winning the governorship damaged, Ohio Democrats are shifting resources away from the top of the ticket into a coordinated victory campaign focused on getting out the vote. Embattled gubernatorial candidate Ed FitzGerald's campaign said Friday shifting strategy and campaign cash to the party's field and voter turnout program is aimed at turning out sporadic Democratic voters "who have made the difference in past elections." The decision follows a series of blows to FitzGerald's campaign against Republican Gov. John Kasich (KAY'-sik), including revelations that FitzGerald lacked a permanent driver's license for over a decade.
