Lane closures to affect both directions of NKY's cut-in-the-hill - Cincinnati News, FOX19-WXIX TV

Lane closures to affect both directions of NKY's cut-in-the-hill this weekend

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Interstate 71/75 in Northern Kentucky is about to get much worse for motorists this weekend.

If you have driven on 71/75 between the river and I-275 over the last two months you've no doubt seen the construction on the northbound side. It has been down to one lane for several weekends and now the southbound lanes will follow suit.

Starting Friday night at 11 p.m., both directions of I-71/75 will have lane closures at the cut-in-the-hill.

The roadwork is part of Revive the Drive, a $91 million series of road projects aimed to repair and replace old pavement on interstates 71, 75, 275, and 471.

For several weekends the northbound portion of 71/75 from I-275 to the Ohio River has been a nightmare and this weekend with both directions getting work done, motorists are encouraged to find another way around.
