Altercation between two homeless men leads to stabbing

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing in Anderson Township.

It happened around 3 a.m. Friday under the Beechmont Levy Bridge over the Little Miami river.

Police say two homeless men were involved in a verbal dispute that resulted in one of them being stabbed several times in the chest. The subject who was stabbed was able to locate several fishermen, who summoned sheriff's deputies.

The victim, Dwayne Morgan, 43, was taken to University Hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspect, Joseph Otis, 61, was taken into custody for questioning and has been charged with one count of felonious assault.

Otis will be transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center and to await arraignment.
