FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - A liquor store employee chased a suspect who robbed his store Thursday night.

Just before 11 p.m., an armed suspect entered the Liquor City store on Dream Street in Florence and demanded cash. The suspect was wearing a piece of cloth over his face and pulled out a knife.

As the suspect fled with an undetermined amount of cash, he was followed by a store employee north on Dream Street to the Knights Inn also located on Dream Street.

Several bystanders saw the chase and pointed out the room the suspect entered to police. One couple gave the employee a ride to help in the chase.

After several attempts a male finally opened the door and was positively identified and was arrested. A search warrant was served on the room and the cash, knife, the cloth used to cover his face and a black tee shirt from which the cloth was taken was collected as evidence.

The suspect, Zachary Myers, 24, is charged with robbery.
