Lewis Says Dalton Could Start Opener

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - According to Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis, second round pick Andy Dalton could be the immediate replacement for quarterback Carson Palmer.

During an interview with ESPN 101 radio in St Louis Lewis said, "Well that's something we are going to have to see what happens and how it plays out, but there's no question when we selected Andy Dalton we selected him with that in mind that he'd possibly be our opening day starting quarterback."

Dalton has been in Cincinnati this week working with the Bengals offense during player-organized workouts.  Along with Jordan Palmer, Dalton is being counted on to quickly acclimate to the offense of new coordinator Jay Gruden.
