BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - By RICK CALLAHAN Associated Press
More than a week after an Indiana University student vanished, police and volunteers continue searching for clues in the young woman's mysterious disappearance following a night of drinking with friends.
Twenty-year-old Lauren Spierer was last seen walking home alone early on June 3, a few hours after the Greenburgh, N.Y., resident left one of Bloomington's most popular bars with a friend.
A grid search of the city and surrounding areas so far has yielded few clues. Hundreds of local volunteers have helped police in the search for Spierer. Three separate searches were planned throughout the day Saturday.
Bloomington police have 10 "persons of interest" they want to speak to but don't consider them suspects. Capt. Joe Qualters won't reveal who they've spoken to or what those people have said.
