Runners raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for baseball in Redlegs Run

Over 4,300 runners al walkers participated in the Subway Redlegs run to raise money for local baseball Saturday morning.

The tenth annual event was held at Great American Ball Park and included a 5k, 10k, Team Challenge, One Mile Kids Run and Gapper's Kids Fun Run.

The race raised more than $150,000 for the Reds Community Fund. Those funds and their outreach programs help youth baseball funding, field renovations, and inner-city youth baseball initiatives.

The top 5K finishers was Donnie Warner for the men with a time of 15:40 and for the women, Becky Clark with a time of 18:26.

In the 10K race, Scott Mindel finished first for the men with a time with 34:23 and for the women, Amy Robillard with a time of 37:15.

All of the top male and female finishers will throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the Reds game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, June 17.
