CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence, or CIRV, is hosting an open house and resource fair on Thursday to reintroduce the community to the CIRV street advocate team.
After losing most of their funding, CIRV has had to made a cut in the number of outreach workers that are available to help the community.
A key component of CIRV is street advocacy that targets individuals in the community who are at high risk for gun violence.
"What the CIRV team tries to do is help change lives," said Reginald Brazzile, the new CIRV program manager.
During Thursday's event, service provider agencies that work with CIRV will also answer questions about the services they provide.
The open house is Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 19 West Elder Street.
