CINCINNATI (AP) - The last day of Aroldis Chapman's rehab assignment is Tuesday.
That means the Cincinnati Reds will have to make some sort of a move involving the left-handed reliever.
The Reds could either activate Chapman or option him to Triple-A.
Chapman went 2-0 with a 6.92 ERA in 16 games for the Reds this season before he was sent to the disabled list on May 16 because of left shoulder inflammation.
Chapman pitched Saturday for Double-A Carolina, throwing two perfect innings with three strikeouts. He threw 21 pitches, 14 for strikes. It was his best outing yet. He has had a 6.14 ERA over five outings with Carolina and a 13.50 ERA over three appearances in Triple-A Louisville.
