GREENDALE, IN (FOX19) - Fire crews responded to the Little Red School House in Greendale after the school was struck by lightning Monday morning.
It happened around 10 a.m. at the location in the 600 block of Rudolph Way.
Greendale fire chief Shannon Craig says the lightning struck a water line, causing significant damage to one of the classrooms.
The 75 children were taken to a nearby dialysis center on a school bus from Lawrenceburg High School, then moved to a nearby daycare center.
None of the children were hurt. A female teacher suffered a minor shock as she was adjusting a radio when the lightning bolt struck the building. She was able to drive herself to the hospital.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office will check out the building before it is allowed to reopen.
