Commencement ceremonies Thursday at Cincinnati State

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati State will graduate over 1,470 students during commencement ceremonies on Thursday.

Gary Cates, the Senior Vice Chancellor for the division of Innovation and Enterprise Development at the Ohio Board of Regents, will be the featured speaker at the ceremony.

Student addresses will be given by Jason Heyl, a military veteran who is majoring in electromechanical engineering technologies with a particular focus on renewable energy and laser programs, and Judy Oberton, a former business owner who came to Cincinnati State to study office management and emphasize to her grandchildren the importance of education.

Commencement ceremonies are scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at the Duke Energy Center.
