CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Ohio River Way is celebrating the 10th Annual Paddlefest this weekend on the Ohio River.
Paddlefest has become the largest on-water paddling event in the nation. It features recreation, entertainment and education for children and adults.
Last year, the number of people in Paddlefest's 8.2 mile float trip down the Ohio River exceeded 2,000, making the event the largest of its kind in the U.S.
Paddlefest weekend begins on Thursday, June 23 with the Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo. The Kids Expo children learn everything from weather patterns to how catch a fish, sustainable energy, bird species, gardening, how to recycle and more. And, every child learns about water safety, how to safely paddle in water and the proper way to wear a life jacket. There is something for everyone at the expo and the kids have fun outdoors while learning at the same time.
On Friday, June 24, the Ohio River Music & Outdoor Festival takes place in the picnic grove at Coney Island.
Paddle the Ohio on Saturday, June 25 on the 8.2 mile float trip, 11 mile Amateur race or the 14 mile Pro race.
