FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - The starting pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles for the game against the Reds on Friday used to play for the Florence Freedom.
Chris Jakubauskas, 32, was the first player from the Freedom to play in the major leagues. Jakubauskas signed with the Mariners in 2003.
He pitched several years in the minor leagues before making his major league debut for the Mariners in 2009. He pitched for Pittsburgh in 2010 and now the Orioles. He's 2-0 this year with a 5.14 ERA.
The Reds are playing the Orioles for the first time since 2005 and the first time ever at Camden Yards.
