CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Four fired Cincinnati Waterworks employees escape felony charges and a 180 day sentence each for stealing water. Instead, they agreed to leave city employment without a fight and promise to payback what they stole.
A plea deal was negotiated where the four employees agreed to not challenge their firing under their rights in their union contracts, leave city employment and promise to pay for the stolen water. Their felony was reduced to a misdemeanor and the original 180 day sentence was suspended.
Here are the amounts they agreed to pay:
- Timothy Ratcliffe, 39, of Westwood: $2,040
- Joseph Harrison, Jr., 44, of Mount Healthy: $810
- David Boggs, 45, of Mount Healthy: $990
- James Jackson, Jr., 47, of Avondale: $645
Each of the four were sentenced to a year of probation and restitution.
