Nightly lane closures affect traffic on NB deck of Brent Spence Bridge

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Nightly lane closures will affect traffic on the northbound deck of the Brent Spence Bridge this week.

On Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29, various single and double lane closures are scheduled from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. with single lane closures scheduled for Thursday, June 30 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The lane closures will begin at the Buttermilk Pike exit in Fort Mitchell.

This area goes from the Rivard Drive underpass, which is north of Dixie Highway in Fort Mitchell, to the Brent Spence Bridge over the Ohio River.

Work will replace sections of concrete pavement as well as joint repair work on several bridges.

Arrow boards and signs will be in place prior to the work zone to alert motorists of the upcoming lane closures.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.

The Kentucky Transportation Department says weekend construction will halt for the Fourth of July holiday weekend, as well as the following weekend for the NASCAR race at Kentucky Speedway.
