NORTHERN KENTUCKY (FOX19) - Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear has ordered that flags at all state office buildings will be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, in honor of a Fort Knox soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, Sgt. James W. Harvey II, 23, of Toms River, N.J., died June 20 in Ghazni province, Afghanistan. He was injured when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Knox, Ky.
Funeral services for Sgt. Harvey will be held on Wednesday, June 29 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's R.C. Church in Spring Lake, N.J. Burial services will immediately follow at St. Anne's Cemetery in Wall, N.J.
