Butler Co. teen possibly connected to hacking case

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A Butler County teenager could be connected to an international hacking case.

According to the London Daily Mail, the teen is accused of snitching on a hacker group called LulzSec, who claimed responsibility for several high-profile hacking attacks.

The LulzSec team consisted of six members who recently announced they are shutting down after one of their members, Ryan Cleary, 19, was arrested and charged with five offenses under the Computer Misuse Act.

LulzSec claimed revenge on two people, claiming they snitched on them and led to Cleary's arrest. One of those two accused "snitchers" is from St. Clair Township.

FBI Spokesperson Michael Brooks said the FBI did execute a sealed federal search warrant at a home on Jackson Road on Monday, but would not release any more information. He would also not confirm that the search warrant was related to the hacking case.

LulzSec said in a statement on the PasteBin website that the teen is involved in countless cybercrimes.
