CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Are you wondering why you are seeing those iconic red kettles outside stores when it's only July?
The Salvation Army is celebrating Christmas in July in an effort to raise $50,000. Funds raised through this campaign are used to send local children to summer camp, day camp and summer enrichment programs.
Summer camp is held at Camp SWONEKY in Oregonia, about 10 miles north of Kings Island. day camps and summer enrichment programs are offered at the six local Salvation Army Community Centers through the summer months.
The red kettles are being placed at 35 area Kroger stores. Volunteers are needed to ring the bells. For more information, visit www.salvationarmycincinnati.org.
