MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

Three people are facing charges, accused of manufacturing fake tickets to Cedar Point and selling them on Criagslist.

John Berg, 23, of West Chester, Lindsey Berg, 24, of Vandalia and James Copp, 26, of Hamilton, are all charged with theft and forgery.

The scam was discovered when a man from Monroe met John Berg in the parking lot of a Walmart and paid $220 for tickets. He didn't find out they were counterfeit until he arrived at Cedar Point, which is located in Sandusky, Ohio.

After initiating an investigation, Middletown Police was informed by Cedar Point Police that there had been another incident in Middletown where the victim met the culprits in the parking lot of Fricker's on June 15 and purchased $175-worth of tickets.

Equipment used to facilitate the illegal enterprise was seized and the suspects were taken into custody.

Police were aided by the wife of one of the victims who wrote down the license plate number of the person selling the tickets.
