(FOX19) - Police are out in full force over the Fourth of July weekend.
About 150 extra troopers will be on Indiana Highways, in an effort to ensure safe driving. Ohio and Kentucky Troopers will also be out in full force.
This is part of a federally funded program called Operation Care.
"The best advice we can give is take your time, observe the speed limit, wear your seatbelts, don't drink and drive, and just be as safe as you can," said Noel Houze, officer with the Indiana State Police.
Troopers arrested 600 people, last year, for driving impaired last Fourth of July weekend in Ohio alone.
Seven people were killed last year in dearly crashes over the long holiday weekend in Kentucky.
