SOUTH FAIRMOUNT, OH (FOX19) - Friends and family will hold a candlelight vigil Tuesday night for a man murdered a year ago in South Fairmount.

Terry Johnson was gunned down in a car at the Fay Apartments on July 5 of last year. Deonte Slater, 20, was arrested for the murder.

Investigators say Johnson was at the wheel in a stopped SUV with at least two passengers when Slater fired multiple shots inside. Johnson tried to drive away, but lost control and crashed into a building.

Johnson's mother is asking for community support and prayers during the vigil at the scene of the crime. That's at 2322 Nottingham Road starting at 6 p.m.
